The Division of Cognitive Neurology at Rutgers is home to dementia specialists including cognitive neurologists, geriatric psychiatrists, internists, and neuropsychologists who are experienced in modern approaches to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease (AD), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), frontotemporal dementia (FTD), primary progressive aphasia (PPA), and Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).

We work with clinical and basic scientists on research to better and more accurately diagnose people with memory and thinking concerns, prevent cognitive decline in aging, and develop newer treatments for common and rare brain disorders.

Because the care of People Living with Dementia is important and extends beyond the walls of a medical clinic, we are also working with community partners to promote Dementia Friendly practices and communities.
