The Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Staff Council hosted launch events on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25 in Piscataway and New Brunswick, respectively. View photos from the events here.
The Staff Council is a new representative body of non-faculty employees who will work to increase staff involvement in the governance of the school by broadening and strengthening lines of communication within the entire community. Executive Vice Dean Tom Hecker, PhD , spoke at the events about the importance of the Staff Council to improve the lines of communication with the Dean’s office and strengthen the relationship between faculty and staff. Dr. Hecker emphasized that staff is the heart of the medical school family, helping the school successfully educate its students, treat its patients and fulfill its research mission.
“I believe that it is possible for us to be that great academic medical center where people are excited to get up in the morning and come to work,” said Rhonda M. Smith, PhD , Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives and Administration. “The initiatives being brought forth by the Staff Council are to let you know that we appreciate you, that we are proud you chose to work at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and to make sure that you feel welcomed while you are at work.”
