Training & Consultation Specialist - Community Based Instruction

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Training and Consultation Specialist (CBI) for The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a faculty member, this position coordinates planning, development, training and technical assistance activities related to best practices in community based instruction (CBI). The Training and Consultation Specialist provides training and technical assistance in community-based instruction, program design and program enhancement to school personnel statewide, with concentration on person centered approaches for all students with disabilities, especially developmental. Responsibilities for this position include collaborating with the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of Special Education ( DOE-OSEP) and other Boggs Center personnel conducting training and technical assistance in CBI; developing, planning and providing trainings; designing and disseminating instructional and other resources; project specific data analysis and reporting; and, responding to requests for information.

 

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Develops training modules and materials related to community based instruction (CBI) including video and other training technology.
  • Delivers training modules to school/district personnel at designated locations regionally in keeping with DOE-OSEP and Boggs Center agreement and expectations.
  • Develops and follows a system to deliver technical assistance to schools/districts regarding community based instruction (CBI).
  • Develops project elements and timelines in collaboration with supervisor, CBI coworkers, and DOE-OSEP staff.
  • Collaborates with other Boggs Center employees regarding community-based instruction (CBI) including data collection, evaluations, written and verbal communications, and information sharing.
  • As required, conducts analyses and writes reports and other materials related to community based instruction (CBI).

Training & Consultation Specialist - Positive Behavior Support in Schools

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Training and Consultation Specialist for The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities for the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

 

Responsibilities
This position provides advanced level consultation, technical assistance and training services consistent with identified project goals and objectives. The Training and Consultation Specialist is primarily responsible for delivery of training and consultation support to public New Jersey schools on the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Responsibilities of this position include participating in the planning, coordination and provision of training, curriculum development; coordination and provision of technical assistance to network schools through email, phone and on-site school/district support as prescribed by the project implementation protocol; completing administrative duties (e.g., helping to maintain the website, maintaining technical assistance logs, etc.); responding to requests for information; and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Prepares for trainings, training set up / clean up (which includes lifting and transporting training materials), maintenance of the project suite and resources, responsiveness to and participation in team discussions, using the team planning calendar, respecting co-workers, using time efficiently, friendly and constructive communication, and coordination with NJ DOE-OSE.
  • Manages an extensive data archive of school information and products, procuring designated products from schools, maintaining up to date files and electronic folders for schools, maintaining up to date documentation for technical assistance logs and service delivery data.
  • Maintains regular contact with schools through email, phone and on-site support as prescribed by the project technical assistance protocol; providing solution focused assistance that advances schools’ implementation of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports framework at all intervention tiers.
  • Supports school teams through the development of/sharing of materials, products and resources; participating in and collaborating with project team members to problem-solve and develop technical assistance supports.
  • Delivers training on the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports framework.

Program Assistant - Positive Behavior Support in Schools

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Assistant for The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities for the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

 

Responsibilities
Under direction, the Program Assistant assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of the NJ Positive Behavior Supports in Schools training initiative. This position provides administrative and program support to the Project Director and Training and Consultation Specialists. The Program Assistant supports the development of products, coordination of events and management of the data base.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Enters data, conducts data audits, develops and implements procedures to ensure data is current, develops data tracking tools, develops pivot tables to support data analysis, creates summaries of data, develops graphs and supports project report development, acquires information relative to supporting data analysis.
  • Develops and maintains the annual training calendar, secures training space and designated locations, develops materials and communications relative to the training calendar.
  • Works with other support staff to coordinate the annual conference, including logistics planning, working with the conference site, material planning, registrations, and other duties relative to event planning.
  • Works in coordination with designated Boggs Center personnel to coordinate sending materials to print, supports production of materials into final print form, supports the development of key information dissemination materials (e.g., implementation briefs and monthly distribution list blasts), supports development of quarterly and annual reports.
  • Implements monthly audits of key project deliverables, preps training materials for staff, assists with maintaining office, anticipates upcoming needs, coordinating logistics for monthly team meetings, material and supply organization, supports problem solving for site logistics, training conflicts, etc., supports maintenance of records and project materials.
  • Communicates with Project Staff, Boggs Center Staff, district personnel and Department of Education personnel.

Secretary II - Community Based Instruction and Person Centered Approaches in Schools and Transition

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Secretary II for The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities for the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of a faculty member, and working with the Assistant Director and Boggs Center Staff, this position provides multifaceted secretarial and administrative services to the CBI (Community Based Instruction) and PCAST (Person Centered Approaches in Schools and Transition) project teams at The Boggs Center. Responsibilities include training scheduling, registration and evaluation compilation as well as material compilation, supplies acquisition, etc.

 

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Organizes the details and logistics of simultaneously occurring events across statewide projects in a professional manner.
  • Assists in the preparation and duplication of documents, charts, manuals, reports, minutes, brochures, training materials, etc.
  • Accurately uses database to register participants, mark completion status, enter and tabulate evaluation data, and generate reports.
  • Actively responds to the needs and requests of BC Staff, Project Funders, School District Leadership, and training participants through use of email and phone.
  • Maintains the project payment system that includes generation of invoices, following up on purchase orders, processing payments, and tracking payments.
  • Manages incoming telephone calls, screens inquiries, provides necessary information, and relays information.
