About Us

Rutgers Project ECHO

The goal of Rutgers Project ECHO is to build collaborative communities to overcome health care disparities. By bringing specialist knowledge to primary care providers (PCPs) Project ECHO help’s create expanded access and reduce the cost of specialty care for underserved patients in New Jersey. PCPs become more confident in treating patients with complex conditions in their own practice by sharing best practices within a case-based learning model. Specialist mentors are from Rutgers RWJMS, RWJBarnabas Health, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care among many others.

Learn About Your Area of Interest

Project ECHO’s internet-based videoconference sessions take only 60 minutes of your time per session. They include a 15-minute expert-led presentation; participant-presented, patient cases; and collaborative problem solving with an interdisciplinary team. Research shows an increase in PCPs’ treatment self-efficacy, competency, knowledge, and national guidelines adherence after participating in Project ECHO.
