Vascular Access Procedures
Catheters are placed for long-term intravenous access for cancer patients and hyperalimentation for children who are not fed for long periods.
Peritoneal Dialysis
Peritoneal dialysis is performed for acute or chronic clinical situations, coordinated with the pediatric nephrologists.
Pediatric Trauma
All types of multiple trauma patients are admitted and taken care of by trauma team consisting of three pediatric surgeons in conjunction with the adult trauma service. Ambulance and helicopter service are available, as well as a fully-equipped pediatric ICU. Conservative treatment philosophy is applied for most splenic and hepatic injuries.
