DDLS Spring 2019Charting the LifeCourse Framework and Tools

April 18, 2019- Duration 2.75 hrs

Michelle Reynolds, PhD
Associate Director, Training and Technical Assistance
UMKC Institute for Human Development
University of Missouri
Kansas City, MO

The Charting the LifeCourse Framework was created "by families, for families" to help individuals and families of all abilities and all ages develop a vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live. Individuals and families may apply the framework to their current situation and stage of life and to look ahead to think about life experiences that will help move them toward an inclusive, productive life in the future. This presentation will share how this universally-designed framework is used by families and professionals to support persons with and without disabilities. The presenter will guide the audience through key principles of the framework and address the ways it can be used to inform the planning process, to problem solve, and to inform and assist with organizational and systems change efforts.
