Research and Clinical Opportunities

Nationwide Children's Hospital - Injury Research Program for Medical Students

This program gives medical students the opportunity to conduct their own research under the supervision and guidance of The Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) faculty and researchers. In collaboration with a faculty mentor, students will choose an injury topic, conduct a literature review, develop a research hypothesis, conduct analysis of an existing national dataset to evaluate this hypothesis, and interpret and summarize findings in a manuscript which they will write as first author. At the conclusion of the two-month summer program, students will submit their manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals for publication. Students are supported throughout their training by intensive mentorship and training by CIRP faculty, who are internationally-known experts in the field of injury research.
