Behavioral Science, MSBS 5070S

Course Description:

This is 3-credit a lecture/discussion course that introduces basic principles of human behavior including psychological and biological theories of psychopathology. Course content includes an introduction of major topics of adult psychiatry and fundamental issues dealing with child and geriatric populations, psychopharmacology and substance abuse. Examples from pop culture are used to reinforce major teaching points. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with selected works from literature and cinema so as to participate in the discussion of various psychiatric topics during lecture.
