Special Admissions Programs

Academic Clinical Experiences Summer (ACES) Program

ACES is a program developed in partnership with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) and two undergraduate universities Bryn Mawr College and Princeton University . This program aims to facilitate a meaningful and worthwhile transition between undergraduate studies at Princeton or Bryn Mawr and medical education at RWJMS for educationally and/or economically disadvantaged students. The program provides an intensive summer experience after students' sophomore year of undergrad, mentoring, and an opportunity for linkage to enter medical school.

Early-Assurance Program

The Early Assurance Program with Monmouth University, Rutgers University, Saint Elizabeth University, Seton Hall University, and The College of New Jersey is a program where applicants from economic and/or educational disadvantaged backgrounds are provided an early assurance admissions to the medical school following two completed undergraduate years. Students complete a summer enrichment and mentoring program between their junior and senior years. Upon successful completion of the summer program, undergraduate graduation requirements, Multiple Mini Interviews, and MCAT, they are accepted as first year medical students.

Advanced Standing Applicants (Transfers)

We are not able to accept applications for advanced standing students for the 2016-2017 academic year due to no openings in our class. Questions can be sent to: rwjapadm@rwjms.rutgers.edu.

Joint Bachelor/Medical Degree Program

The Rutgers University/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Joint Program is designed to permit integration of basic medical sciences into the undergraduate curriculum to graduate broadly educated students who will assume leadership roles in medicine. Students apply to the program in their fourth semester at Rutgers University. Joint PharmD/MD Program

This unique and highly selective program is designed to create an elite cadre of interdisciplinary practitioners, highly skilled in the disciplines of both pharmacy and medicine, and poised to provide leadership in collaborative clinical practice, academic research, public policy, and the pharmaceutical industry. This program will be directed by dual degree program committees in the School of Pharmacy and the RWJ Medical School. Successful applicants will be admitted to RWJMS upon their successful completion of the PharmD program, and will not be required to take the MCAT exam. Only currently enrolled PharmD students at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy are eligible to apply for admission. For more information click here.

Linkage Programs with Post-Baccalaureate Programs

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has established Accelerated Acceptance programs with post-baccalaureate programs at Bryn Mawr College, Columbia University, Drexel University, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, Lasalle University, New York University, Rutgers Masters in Biomedical Sciences Piscataway, and University of Pennsylvania. General requirements include a post-baccalaureate gpa of 3.60, the above mentioned prerequisites for the medical school, and MCAT taken no later than the spring of the year of matriculation.
