American Geriatrics Society Appoints John M. Heath, MD, AGSF

As Program Chair for 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting

The American Geriatrics Society (AGS) has appointed John M. Heath, MD, AGSF, as program chair of its 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting. Dr. Heath is associate professor of family medicine and community health, and of medicine, at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The AGS meeting will be held May 11 – 14, 2011, in National Harbor, MD.

Dr. Heath, an AGS Fellow since 1998, is the director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  He also serves as director of Linking Geriatrics with Adult Protective Services, a geriatric medicine consultancy for Adult Protective Services agencies in Middlesex and Somerset Counties in New Jersey that serves victims of elder mistreatment.

Dr. Heath’s work has been widely published in leading geriatric journals. He sees older adult patients at the Center for Healthy Aging at Monroe within The Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School’s multi-disciplinary faculty practice. The Program Committee of the AGS is currently reviewing proposals covering a variety of topics that focus on clinical issues in geriatrics and will involve speakers from multiple disciplines.
