The Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group Hosts Free Screenings and Lecture on Memory
Monroe, NJ -- The Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group’s “Center for Healthy Aging at Monroe” will hold the first of a series of free lectures and memory screenings for the public at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m., on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Each lecture, which will be led by John Heath, MD, AGSF, a geriatrician and associate professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, will be followed by prescheduled screenings. The event will take place in Suite 104 at 18 Centre Drive (off Applegarth Road) in Monroe Township.
Following each talk, Dr. Heath will be joined by trained clinicians to conduct memory screenings and interviews to discuss patient concerns. A screening is recommended for those who believe they or a loved one are:
- becoming more forgetful;
- having difficulty performing familiar tasks;
- experiencing trouble recalling words; and
- interested in current clinical and research approaches to memory enhancement.
The lectures and screenings are free; however screening appointments must be scheduled in advanced by calling 609-655-5178.
