Patients and Physicians Welcome to Open House for

New Specialized Obstetrics and Gynecology Health Services in Monroe

 

Monroe Township, NJ -- The Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group announces the addition of specialized obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive services at its Monroe Township practice, offering women and their families a comprehensive menu of services in one location.  The practice will hold an open house on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, which will feature expert physicians practicing in this new location, as well as other Medical Group physicians who specialize in cardiology, vascular health, dermatology and urology.  Area physicians and practice managers are welcome from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Community members who would like to see the new facility, are welcome to the open house from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The event will include seminars and informal discussions about the latest medical advances in women’s health care. Free cholesterol and blood sugar screenings will be provided by the Community Education Department and Laboratory Outreach Services of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.  Tours of the facility will be provided so that participants can view state-of-the-art equipment that is available for women obtaining services at this site.   

The obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive practice offers a welcoming environment in which women’s needs are met at every stage of life with safe, compassionate care by expert obstetricians and gynecologists. All of the physicians provide well-care visits for women and obstetrical care. They also are skilled in high-risk prenatal care, female incontinence and minimally-invasive gynecological procedures. The physicians in Monroe include: Charletta Ayers, MD, MPH, associate professor, who specializes in adolescent gynecology and Gloria Bachmann, MD, a national authority on women's health, who focuses on mid-life and menopausal health. Dr. Bachmann is the interim chair of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive services at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Also available will be Adrian Balica, MD, assistant professor, who specializes in minimally-invasive gynecological surgery; Juana Hutchinson-Colas, MD, assistant professor and an expert in uro-gynecology; Lena Merjanian, MD, an instructor, who specializes in evaluation and treatment of abnormal PAP smears; Nancy Phillips, MD, clinical assistant professor, who specializes in sexual health and Eman Soultan, MD, an instructor, who specializes in abnormal bleeding.

The physicians are members of The Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group, the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School’s multi-disciplinary faculty practice with approximately 500 physicians encompassing more than 200 sub-specialties, who have privileges at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Through the partnership of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, expert physicians have the significant resources of an academic medical center to ensure patients benefit from a comprehensive treatment program from diagnosis through rehabilitation.
