Roosevelt Elementary Students Donate Funds to Eric B. Chandler Health Center

Fourth-grade students from Roosevelt Elementary School in New Brunswick, visited Robert Wood Johnson Medical School’s Eric B. Chandler Health Center earlier this month for a ribbon-cutting ceremony that introduced a new flat-screen television in the pediatric waiting room, purchased in part with funding provided by the students.  While in third-grade, the students created a business that sold bottled water and juice ice pops as part of an economics project, raising $200. At the conclusion of the project, the student chose to donate the funds to Chandler to benefit its pediatric patients.

The Chandler Health Center is a federally qualified and funded health center, owned and operated by Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, along with active leadership of a community board. The Health Center provides access to quality primary care services for an underserved population regardless of the ability to pay. It has been an active participant in the New Brunswick community for more than 20 years
and offers care for infants, children, teens, adults, and seniors.
