UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers University Host Symposium

-- First National Postdoctoral Appreciation Day --

New Brunswick, NJ – UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, will host a symposium in conjunction with the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA). The symposium will be held on September 24, 2009 from 9 am to 4:30 pm in the Life Sciences Auditorium, 145 Bevier Road, Rutgers' Busch Campus, Piscataway.

The state wide event is free and open to all postdoctoral scholars, scientists and recruiters working in industry or education. The day includes a keynote seminar by, Robert Tillman, PhD, director of the Science Alliance for Students and Postdocs at The New York Academy of Sciences, as well as a career development panel session.

This is the first National Postdoctoral Appreciation Day honoring individuals who continue in their field of study after the completion of a doctoral degree (PhD). The NPA hopes to recognize the significant contribution that postdoctoral scholars make to the U.S. scientific research enterprise and, at the same time, to increase awareness of this contribution.

Postdocs wishing to register to attend or to submit an abstract should visit http://rwjms.umdnj.edu/postdoc/pda_symposium.php
