Every year, at the conclusion of his presen- tation, Dr. Lacy invites students in the audience to contact him if they are inter- ested in engaging in a project related to emergency preparedness and disaster response. As usual, Dr. Lacy's suggestion brought a group of students to the front of the room to meet him and arrange a follow- up meeting to discuss their interest in working on a project to improve disaster response.
