RWJ OIT is no longer providing the installation of Microsoft Office software to students on their personal laptops. Microsoft Office is now being offered by Rutgers University through the cloud and can be accessed through their Rutgers Connect 365 account at https://connect.rutgers.edu. Students must purchase Microsoft Office software to install locally on their own laptops.

 

 

Rutgers E-mail

Rutgers Connect is the new official centralized university-wide email and calendar service, based on Office 365. As part of the President's Strategic Plan, this single email and calendaring system will effectively improve communications, collaboration and scheduling across the community.

Academic Management Platform - AMP

AMP

Online application, tailor made for RWJMS students and the curriculum. The AMP system features a user-friendly interface and serves as a centralized location for course information. It intuitively combines required readings, recordings of lectures, and presentation slides in a self-contained interface that is easily accessed from a computer, iPad.

Provides access to course syllabus, school wide directories, manuals and guides, and performance tracking through resources such as:

  • Course Resources
  • Library
  • Lectures onDemand(Media)
  • Schedules
  • Assessments

MediaSite Video Platform

MediaSite is a lecture capture system that enables students to revisit lectures at their convenience by going to the "Media" section in the AMP course shell or by going to the MediaSite Showcase at http://media.rwjms.rutgers.edu . Note: You will need to login using your NetID to view course related material.

Printing

OIT Technology utilizes a printing environment using Sharp devices throughout the Piscataway Research Tower and Kessler buildings. Faculty, Staff and Students can print to any of the Sharp devices with a technology called Find Me Printing.

Users can swipe their University Identification Badge or manually enter their NetID and password to release their jobs at any of the sharp devices. Devices are equipped with a copier and scanner and will allow users to send directly to an email address.

Ways to print:

  • Computer Labs:

    Use a RBHS computer lab to print and release your job with your Rutgers ID. The very first time you swipe your card, you will need to associate your printing account to your card. Click Here to see Instructions
  • Laptop:

    Printing from your laptop will require that you use the web browser and enter the following URL https://webprint.rbhs.rutgers.edu. Login with your NetID and password. Click Here to see Instructions for further information.

Mobility

The mobility initiative includes a combination of current available technologies as well as those created and being developed by RWJMS OIT. Incoming students are issued a new iPad to use and assist with integrating mobile technologies during their first two years of medical school. Later, during student clinical years, the iPad is refreshed to allow for optimal performance.

ResponseWare

TurningPoint by Turning Technologies is a software system that allows presenters and instructors to display questions in their PowerPoint presentation and have participants submit a response using ResponseWare from their iPhone or iPad.

Participants will enter the session id that the presenter provides into ResponseWare and join the session. When the presenter displays an interactive polling slide via a PowerPoint presentation, students press the answer of their choice. The device immediately sends the response to the computer running the PowerPoint presentation. The software will then display the audience responses as a percentage or bar graph.

  • Click Here to download the ResponseWare application. On the device you could also click on the App Store button, and click on serarch from the menu toolbar. Type responseware as your search criteria.

Clinical Activity Tracking System (CATS)

The Clinical Activity Tracking System (CATS) is a tool for students to log patient encounters during Clerkships, Electives or Sub Internships. It also helps assure that you are a meeting global and clerkship specific requirements. CATS has a mobile friendly version for quick and easy access.
