Dr. Kenneth S. and Audrey S. Gould Lecture Series in Molecular and Cellular Medicine

The Gould Lecture Series was established in 2003 through the generosity of Dr. Kenneth S. and Audrey S. Gould.  The lecture series, which takes place annually at the Child Health Institute, hosts distinguished scientists who are at the forefront of research on the molecular and cellular basis of disease. 

 

Previous guest lecturers have included: Cori Bargmann, PhD, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Rockefeller University—2014; Carl Nathan, MD, Weill Cornell Medical College—2013; James R. Downing, MD, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—2012; Leonard P. Guarente, PhD, Massachusetts Institute of Technology—2009; Stuart H. Orkin, MD, Harvard Medical school—2008; Rudolf Jaenisch, MD, Massachusetts Institute of Technology—2007; Francesco Ramirez, PhD, Child Health Institute of NJ—2005; Joseph T. Coyle, MD, Harvard Medical School—2004; and Eric R. Kandel, MD, Columbia University—2003.

 

Scientists, colleagues and students from throughout the Rutgers campus including nearby universities and scientific communities are all welcome to attend.  The Gould Lecture Series takes place during the Fall Semester in CHINJ Conference Room 3101.  Announcements for the series are sent out University-wide.

Child Health Institute Science Seminar Series

The Child Health Institute Science Seminar Series welcomes all scientists and students from the Child Health Institute, Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers University.  The purpose of this seminar series is to provide a forum for investigators to share scientific progress and discuss its impact on child health.  Seminars are held on Mondays once or twice per month from 4:00 - 5:00 pm in CHINJ Conference Room 3101.

Immunology & Inflammation Journal Club 2014

The Basic and Tumor Immunology Journal Club is a weekly meeting that welcomes all scientists from the Child Health Institute of NJ, Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the Cancer Institute of NJ and Rutgers University.  The goal of the meetings is to learn about the field of Immunology, to keep abreast of new developments in the field and to foster informal discussion and interactions between basic, translational and clinical scientists.  Students, post-doctoral fellows and faculty all contribute to the meeting by presenting and leading discussions about recently published journal articles.  The series meets weekly from September to July on Wednesdays from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in CHINJ Conference Room 3209.   Pizza is provided.
