Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support: An Inextricable Relationship May 6, 2016 - Duration 2.75 hrs Fredda Brown, PhD Flushing, NY
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an effective technology used to support individuals with challenging behavior and is the foundation for positive behavior supports (PBS). This presentation will discuss the relationship between ABA and PBS, including how PBS facilitates the use of person-centered approaches. Examples of how unique aspects of PBS impact behavior support, including the right to effective treatment and the behavioral equation, and changes in professional perception of treatment acceptability across time will be discussed.
