People with Developmental Disabilities and Anxiety Disorders September 28, 2012 - Duration 2.75 hrs Sue Gabriel, PMHNP-BC People with developmental disabilities, like all people, experience stress and anxiety. They may even experience more stress and anxiety disorders than the rest of the population. In people with developmental disabilities, anxiety disorders may present as challenging behavior and are often undiagnosed. This presentation will address the effects of stress, the causes and common symptoms of anxiety disorders, and interventions and techniques clinicians can use to help people with developmental disabilities cope with anxiety disorders.
