Frequently Asked Questions
Once you register for your course and have access to the Canvas Learning system, your home screen will display the courses you registered and enrolled in. The dashboard will display information about your current courses, announcements, and a global activity stream that shows recent activity in all your current courses.
In order to complete the course and satisfy the requirements, you will need to view and complete the 8-session series module and complete a post-session survey.
Certificates of completion will be distributed only to registered participants who have viewed the entire CHW competency training sessions.
The Community Health Worker (CHW) ECHO Training Series - COVID-19 Education, Training, and Safety Competency consist of 8 sessions. Each session is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.The Doula ECHO SCCT Training consists of 3 sessions. Each one is about an hour and half.
Once you complete the Rutgers CHW ECHO training series and the post-series survey you will automatically receive your certificate of completion via email. You will need to submit your survey to receive your certificate.
The Rutgers Project ECHO CHW Competency Training and DOULA SCCT Training are both one of the 13 Core CLG Training Competencies. Certificates of completion will be distributed to the Colette Lamothe-Galette Community Health Worker Institute participants after viewing all modules and session recordings, knowledge assessments, and the post-session survey.
The NJ Department of Health (NJDOH) has established the Colette Lamothe-Galette (CLG) Community Health Worker Institute through the NJ Department of Labor Apprenticeship program. The goal of the Institute is to create a standardized community health worker training and certification program, resulting in a robust CHW workforce.

The ECHO Training series is free of charge and open to the CLG-CHW participants, as well as other participants who are interested in receiving a certificate.
The CHW Project ECHO training and Doula SCCT Training are each one of the thirteen core competencies needed which will satisfy a portion of the Medicaid Certification requirement.
