Medical Student Elective
This elective aims to provide medical students with a comprehensive and pleasant educational experience in the field of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Infectious Disease. This four week elective consists of three weeks in a Pediatric Immunology/Infectious Disease rotation and one week in a Pediatric Allergy rotation.
Student responsibilities during the elective include:
- Providing inpatient and outpatient consultations under the supervision of the attending.
- Fielding general questions from housestaff and community physicians.
- Following patients' clinical course including monitoring lab values.
- Writing progress notes.
- Participation in weekly HIV comprehensive patient care team meetings.
