Medical Student Elective

This elective aims to provide medical students with a comprehensive and pleasant educational experience in the field of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Infectious Disease. This four week elective consists of three weeks in a Pediatric Immunology/Infectious Disease rotation and one week in a Pediatric Allergy rotation.

Student responsibilities during the elective include:

  1. Providing inpatient and outpatient consultations under the supervision of the attending.
  2. Fielding general questions from housestaff and community physicians.
  3. Following patients' clinical course including monitoring lab values.
  4. Writing progress notes.
  5. Participation in weekly HIV comprehensive patient care team meetings.
