National Institutes of Health (NIH) Guide for Grants and Contracts Table of Contents

Each week, the NIH sends out the Table of Contents of the NIH Guide each week via email. The NIH Guide contains all grant announcements issued by the NIH as well as policy announcements and other information of interest to the biomedical research community. Though it is not technically an alert service, the email provides a quick overview of the funding programs of NIH. The email contains the URL of the complete announcement, so if you see a grant program of interest to you, simply visit the website listed with each announcement.

To subscribe to this service, send email to LISTSERV@LIST.NIH.GOV, leave the subject line blank, and in the body of the message type SUBSCRIBE NIHTOC-L First-name Last-name.

National Science Foundation Update

The NSF funds research in a wide range of basic science, including the biological and the behavioral sciences. The "National Science Foundation Update" allows an individual to select precisely the kind of NSF announcements he or she is interested in receiving, from news releases to grant announcements. When announcements in the selected areas are issued by NSF, the individual will receive a short email notification that contains the Web address of the full announcement. The National Science Foundation Update creates a personal homepage for each user, which resides on the NSF server. The personal homepage contains links to all the selected documents in the selected topical fields. One can, for example, register to receive only program announcements in the biological sciences.
