Robert Wood Johnson Medical School physicians have received federal, state, and local funding to pursue research in a wide range of clinical areas, including cystic fibrosis, lupus, chronic Lyme disease, cardiac disease, and scleroderma. At the Cancer Institute of New Jersey—the state's only National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Center—researchers have pioneered breakthrough methods to target cancer with radioactive therapy and are able to provide access to clinical trials not available at other hospitals, clinics, or doctor's offices.

Cancer Institute of New Jersey Clinical Trials
Cancer Institute of New Jersey offers patients access to treatment options not available at other institutions within the state. Committed to improving the current knowledge and promoting overall reductions in cancer incidence, the institute currently enrolls more than 3,000 patients in clinical trials annually. Its network combines the strengths and skills of the state's expert providers to improve the progress of research, education, and cancer prevention throughout the state.

Healthy NJ
Many of the medical school's research programs focus on the state's most urgent health problems. Healthy NJ: Information for Healthy Living was developed to meet the health care information needs of consumers, particularly the citizens of New Jersey. HealthyNJ is also relevant for New Jersey based policy makers and health care professionals. It features information about health and wellness, diseases and conditions, medical references, state-based resources, and more.
