Welcome to the Division of Geriatrics

The Division of Geriatrics is dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of older adults through compassionate, evidence-based care grounded in the 4Ms framework—What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility. Our interdisciplinary team provides comprehensive, person-centered services that honor each patient’s values and goals, ensuring safe, effective, and age-friendly care across all settings. Through clinical innovation, academic excellence, and community partnerships, the division has achieved national recognition for its leadership in geriatric education, quality improvement, and research that transforms the lives of older adults and their families

Services We Provide

Inpatient Consultation:
Geri-Ortho Hip Fracture, Trauma, Emergency Department Comanagement amongst others.

Outpatient:
Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment: CAB and Monroe.

Areas of Ongoing Research

  1. Yoomi  randomized trial to  improve mobilization in hospitalized older adults  in collaboration with Dr Jay Naik from Division of GIM
  2. Oral care Hygiene amongst hospitalized older adults in collaboration with RWJBarnabas and RWJ School of Dentistry

  4. Barrier to Cognition work up in a multicultural sample of older adults
  5. Transform Study a randomized clinical trial comparing risk factor-based care to Coronary artery disease (CAD) based care
