Bio
Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Goodman is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a Pediatric Hospitalist at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital. She earned her B.S. from Boston College and her M.D. from The University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York City where she also served as Chief Resident. In 2011, following residency, Dr. Goodman joined the faculty of Rutgers-RWJMS.
Dr. Goodman is currently the chair of the Rutgers RWJMS Curriculum Committee and the Director of the Pediatric Clerkship. 13 years ago, she developed the Transition to Residency course for Rutgers which remains a required course for all fourth-year students. Dr. Goodman has led courses for the Academic Pediatric Association’s Educational Scholars Program and her funded work includes instituting a Positive Parenting Resident Curriculum throughout the state of New Jersey.
Dr. Goodman has received multiple awards including Alpha Omega Alpha Faculty Inductee, The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, The New Jersey Health Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award, Rutgers RWJMS Faculty Teaching Award, and New Jersey Monthly Top Doctors. She serves on multiple Rutgers RWJ committees including the Admissions Committee, the Gold Humanism Honor Society Selection Committee, and the Clinical Competence Committee.
One of her most beloved roles is career advising – and she has been fortunate to mentor over 100 students during her time here at this medical school. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Goodman loves to run – she has completed 2 marathons – and run after her 2 children, Abigail (9yo) and Jack (8yo
