Philosophy of Care:
Dr. Han’s philosophy of care centers on understanding the profound impact that sleep has on a person’s health, well being and day-to-day functioning. Guided by this understanding, he combines advanced diagnostic evaluations with a broad spectrum of medical and surgical treatment options to provide personalized, evidence-based care that focused on each patient’s unique goals, anatomy and symptoms.

Biography
Dr. Chihun Jim Han is a fellowship-trained sleep surgeon and otolaryngologist specializing in the surgical and medical management of obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing. Originally from South Korea, Dr. Han moved to New York during high school before earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Medical Ethics from Boston College. He went on to receive his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He then pursued fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Han had the privilege of training with leaders in the field, including Drs. Maurits Boon, Colin Huntley, and Ryan Soose, as well as other national and international experts in sleep medicine. His clinical philosophy centers on providing personalized, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique goals.
Dr. Han’s clinical and research interests include interdisciplinary sleep care and improving outcomes in sleep surgery. His work has been presented at multiple national meetings. He is also deeply committed to medical education and the training of residents. He has received teaching accolades throughout his training.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Han enjoys baking, making coffee, hosting dinner parties, and hiking. He is excited to be part of the growing sleep program at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and to collaborate with colleagues across specialties to advance sleep health in the community.
