After completing his residency, Dr.
Burke joined the Commissioned Corps
of the U.S. Public Health Service, with
an initial assignment to the National
Health Service Corps site in Camden.
He worked together with Charles Tyler,
MD, and they created the pediatric care
program of the CAMcare Health Cor-
poration, beginning in the basement of
an abandoned church behind Cooper
University Hospital. Within two to three
