Dr. Susanne Ajao completed her Internal Medicine residency training at New York Medical College at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ. She then pursued a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ, where she has since continued her career. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Her role includes contributions to clinical practice and medical education, reflecting her dedication to advancing knowledge and patient care. Her research is focused on addressing the unique challenges faced by women and minority populations in HIV care and prevention, with a particular emphasis on the barriers these groups encounter. Current projects include investigating the association between antiretroviral therapy, weight gain, and subsequent cardiometabolic risks, aiming to improve health outcomes and tailor interventions to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
