Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Anesthesiology Residency Program at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Beginning September 1, 2018, we will be accepting applications through ERAS for 10 PGY-2 (CA-1) positions beginning July 2021. We do not have any positions available outside of the match at this time.

Please submit the following documents electronically via ERAS:

  • A completed ERAS application
  • Dean's letter
  • Medical school transcript
  • United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE) Board scores or COMLEX Scores
  • Three letters of reference
  • Personal statement
  • A curriculum vitae
  • Photo

Selection Process

The Resident Selection Committee will review all completed applications and will select applicants for interviews. Resident applicants are chosen based on academic performance in medical school, letters of recommendation, and USMLE and/or COMLEX results.

Interviews

Our interview season begins in October and runs through January. Interview dates TBA. There will be a pre-interview Meet & Greet with current residents the night before the interview. The interview day consists of two sessions, a morning and an afternoon session. The morning session begins with breakfast followed by a brief presentation about the program, tour, meetings and interviews with current faculty and residents. The afternoon session will begin with lunch followed by a brief presentation about the program, tour, meetings and interviews with current faculty and residents.

International Graduates

If you are an international medical school graduate and wish to apply, please contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) to submit your ERAS application. You must be ECFMG-certified to apply to our program.
