Dariusz Galkowski, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He is a former OB/GYN who completed his AP/CP residency at New York Medical College, Saint Vincent’s Manhattan Medical Center campus, followed by a fellowship in Molecular Genetics at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Galkowski joined UMDNJ–RWJMS in 2008 as Co-Director of the Molecular and Chemistry Laboratories and Associate Director at the NJ Department of Health Public Health and Environmental Laboratories. He later transitioned to private laboratories before returning to academia to build collaborations between Rutgers and NJMS, including initiatives such as the Rutgers Toxicology Laboratory and the Rutgers DNA Repository for Chronic Diseases.
Dr. Galkowski currently directs Point-of-Care Testing for Rutgers Health–RWJMS outpatient practices in central New Jersey and serves as the Program Director of the Residency Program.
His recent professional interests include digitization and digitalization of pathology and the applications of AI in resident education and training.
