About the Department

Our Department of Radiology is comprised of the Clinical Radiology Department of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) and members of the University Radiology Group.

RWJUH, founded in 1884, is a 965 bed tertiary care facility, a level one trauma center, a primary stroke center, and the primary teaching hospital of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Specialties include cardiac care from screening to heart surgery and transplantation, cancer care, emergency medicine, and maternal fetal medicine. RWJUH is partnered with The Cancer Institute of NJ (CINJ), one of 41 National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States. The hospital has ranked among U.S. News and World Report's "American's Best Hospitals" for five consecutive years.

The Department of Radiology performs approximately 250,000 examinations each year. A
multimodality outpatient imaging center across the street from the hospital affords another 46,000
examinations. There is a fully integrated PACS, RIS, and HIS. The department consists of about 60 board certified radiologists providing expertise in all subspecialties of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.  Each radiologist practices primarily in his or her subspecialty.
