Course Overview

Cardiac Amyloidosis and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) are increasingly recognized as a treatable cause of heart failure, yet significant gaps remain in early diagnosis, appropriate use of diagnostic pathways, and timely initiation of emerging therapies.

This multidisciplinary CME program is designed to address these challenges by providing clinicians with practical, evidence-based strategies to improve recognition, diagnosis, and management of cardiac amyloidosis and HCM. Advances in imaging, noninvasive diagnostic algorithms, and disease-modifying therapies, including transthyretin stabilizers and RNA-targeted treatments, have transformed care, but require enhanced clinician understanding for optimal implementation.

Participants will gain insights into identifying clinical “red flags,” differentiating ATTR and AL amyloidosis and HCM, interpreting advanced imaging, and selecting appropriate therapies. Through expert-led presentations and case-based discussions, this program aims to improve multidisciplinary coordination, enhance patient-centered care, and ultimately improve outcomes for patients with cardiac amyloidosis.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for cardiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists, nuclear technologists, neurologists and echocardiographers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

1. Recognize clinical “red flags” and risk factors suggestive of cardiac amyloidosis and HCM to support earlier diagnosis.

2. Apply evidence-based diagnostic algorithms to differentiate ATTR and AL amyloidosis and HCM using appropriate laboratories and imaging modalities.

3. Interpret advanced cardiac imaging findings (e.g., echocardiographic strain, cardiac MRI, nuclear imaging) in the evaluation of suspected amyloidosis and HCM.

4. Evaluate and select appropriate disease-modifying therapies based on amyloidosis subtypes and HCM, disease stage, and patient-specific factors.

5. Optimize supportive and heart failure management strategies tailored to patients with cardiac amyloidosis.

6. Implement multidisciplinary care approaches to improve coordination among cardiology, hematology, and specialty services.

7. Address health disparities and incorporate genetic considerations into screening and management strategies.

8. Utilize clinical guidelines and emerging evidence to improve quality of care and patient outcomes.

Method of Participation

In order to obtain CE credit, participants must be formally registered for the program, actively participate in the activity, and complete the online evaluation.

A link to the evaluation will be emailed to participants no later than Thursday, August 20, 2026. CE certificates will be issued via email approximately 30 days after the evaluation has been completed.
