Dean Amy P. Murtha

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to welcome you to this issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine and share some of the latest news, innovative programs, and inspiring faculty, staff, learners, and alumni who bring new ideas and outstanding services to our community and beyond.

It is my honor to serve as dean of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a place where learning, research, patient care, local and global service, and diversity combine to create an extraordinary medical home. Along with our medical partners, Rutgers Health, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and RWJBarnabas Health, we are preparing tomorrow’s physicians to be compassionate healthcare providers trained in research-based medicine.

As we work toward integrating New Jersey Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School into Rutgers School of Medicine (RSOM), we are building a medical education program that is well-equipped to meet future challenges. RSOM will be one of the leading public medical schools in the country and create an unparalleled hub of biomedical and health sciences education, research, and clinical care.

We will continue to share stories of the advancement of our missions as we train the next generation of physicians and hold patients and the community at the center of our work.

Amy P. Murtha, MD
Dean, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
