Bio

Altaf Rasool is a Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He works as an Assistant Director with the RWJMG Hospitalist group, as well as helping with the CINJ Hospitalist program, seeing leukemia/lymphoma patients.

He did a year of family medicine residency in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before going on to complete his internal medicine residency at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York. Since then, he has been involved with hospitalist work, primary care, and subacute rehab facilities. In addition, Dr. Rasool went on to complete an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Dr. Rasool received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Baqai Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. This degree was recognized as a Doctor of Medicine after completion of certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).  Dr. Rasool is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the International Antiviral Society-USA. He is also a proud father of a son and three daughters.
