Biography
Dr. Ankit Shah earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Rutgers University. After completing internal medicine and endocrinology training at Columbia University, he returned to Rutgers as a faculty member. Dr. Shah maintains a general endocrine practice at RWJMS, serving a wide variety of patients. He also plays an active role in the clinical and research training of endocrinology fellows, internal medicine residents, medical students, and undergraduates.
Clinical Interests and Description
In the clinic, Dr. Shah enjoys treating patients with a variety of endocrine and hormonal disorders related to diabetes mellitus, thyroid hormone levels, adrenal disorders, calcium disturbances, and pituitary abnormalities.
Research Interests and Description
Dr. Shah’s research centers around metabolic disorders, including diabetes mellitus, obesity, and fatty liver disease. He leads or collaborates on a wide variety of patient-oriented translational studies aimed at understanding the pathogenesis of these diseases and identifying novel treatment strategies.
