Bio

Barbara Jo McGarry is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Family Medicine Residency. Dr. McGarry's areas of interest include Curriculum Development, Evidence-Based Medicine, Chronic Disease Management, and Practice Management.

She earned her MD from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in 1988 and completed her BA in Biological Sciences through Rutgers University's Henry Rutgers Honors Program in 1984. She furthered her education with a residency and fellowship in Family Medicine Academic Teaching Skills at the Department of Family Medicine, RWJMS, from 1991 to 1992, as well as a residency at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/St. Peter’s Family Medicine Residency from 1988 to 1991.

She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, initially certified in 1991 and recertified in 1997 and 2004.
