Denalee M. O’Malley, Ph.D., M.S.W. is an Associate Professor and Interim Chief of the Research Division in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She is a core member of the Center for Advancing Research and Evaluation for Person-Centered Care (CARE-PC) and a member of the Rutgers Cancer Institute. As an implementation scientist, her work centers on aligning care delivery strategies with the needs of complex populations to prevent and control cancer by translating evidence into real-world clinical settings.

Dr. O’Malley’s research program has concentrated on applications of implementation science to redesign care delivery strategies to improve colorectal cancer screening and cancer survivorship care for populations managing multiple chronic conditions. Dr. O’Malley’s research focuses on adapting and integrating evidence-based strategies into real-world clinical settings, particularly at the intersection of primary care and oncology. She currently leads two investigator-initiated studies funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and serves as co-investigator on five additional research projects.

She holds leadership roles in the North American Primary Care Research Group and the Interdisciplinary Network for Survivorship and Primary Care Research and Education (INSPiRE), and has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for several federal study sections, including NIH’s Science of Implementation in Health and Healthcare and the Department of Defense’s Prostate Cancer Implementation Science panel.
