Bio

Beth Goodman has been an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at RWJ Medical School since 2011. She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and after completing her Chief Residency at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in NYC, she joined the Rutgers-RWJ faculty.

Dr. Goodman is the Director of the Pediatric Sub-Internship and is the faculty leader of the Medical Student Pediatric Interest Group. She spearheaded the now-required Bootcamp rotation for 4th-year medical students and continues as course director. Dr. Goodman is the co-director of the ambulatory/REACH resident rotation and the director of the resident newborn nursery rotation.

She is Co-Chair of the Pediatric Resident Education Committee and a member of the Pediatric Resident Clinical Competence Committee.  Since 2011, she has been a member of the Academic Pediatric Association’s Educational Scholars Program (APA ESP). She is also the Co-Chair of the Academic Pediatric Association’s Medical Student Education Interest Group.

Dr. Goodman sees patients and teaches medical students in multiple settings: the inpatient wards, the outpatient faculty practice office, and the newborn nursery.  Her current research projects include work on the integration of evidence-based medicine into pediatric practice as well as the readiness of 4th-year medical students for internship.
