Bio

Gratian Salaru is an associate professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He completed his undergraduate education at Elena Ghiba-Birta High School and College in Arad, Romania, and his graduate education at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara, Romania. 

He completed residencies at the Institute of Forensic and Legal Medicine "Mina Minovici" (Forensic Pathology) and UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (Anatomical and Clinical Pathology), and a hematopathology fellowship at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

His areas of interest include rapid HIV point-of-care testing validation, quality control and implementation, and bioinformatics.
