Meet Dr. Maganti

Dr. Kameswari (Kamu) Maganti is a Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease, Department of Medicine, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). Before her appointments at RWJUH and RWJMS, Dr. Maganti served in numerous professorship and directorship positions in cardiovascular imaging, echocardiography, multimodality imaging, and cardiac rehabilitation from academic and hospital appointments.

Nationally, Dr. Maganti is a recognized leader in the non-invasive cardiology community. She has been regarded by many, including her peers and students, as a passionate and intentional professor. Her receipt of numerous Best Teacher awards over the years is evidence of her outstanding teaching ability. For over 20 years, Dr. Maganti worked at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, serving in various leadership capacities.

Additionally, Dr. Maganti is a well-known speaker and leader at scientific meetings of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Heart Association, and the World Congress of Echocardiography.

With her patient-centric philosophy, Dr. Maganti strives to treat her patients just as she would like to be treated. She takes great care in educating her patients while at the same time providing all the diagnostic and therapeutic options available to them. She adopts a shared decision-making approach to arrive at a treatment plan that is patient-centered with the view to preserve the patient’s long-term health. Her warm personality and strong interpersonal and communication skills not only augur well for her patient-centric model but also for how well she will connect with her students and fellow physicians.
