Bio

Maria Ciminelli is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine. She also serves as Director of the RWJ FM Residency at CentraState Chair and a CentraState Medical Center Credentials Committee.

She earned her MD from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in 1996 and her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences, in 1992. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/St. Peter’s Family Medicine Residency from 1996 to 1999 and participated in the AFMRD - National Institute for Program Director Development in 2007. Dr. Ciminelli is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, initially certified in 1999 and recertified in 2006 and 2016.

Dr. Ciminelli’s areas of interest include curriculum development, evidence-based medicine, adolescents, pediatrics, chronic disease management, and practice management.
