Dr. Richard A. Brodsky is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric emergency medicine specialist with over 15 years of clinical, administrative, and academic experience at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital–Bristol Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (RWJUH-BMSCH) and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He currently serves as Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Director of Pediatric Telemedicine for the RWJ Barnabas Health system, overseeing both inpatient and telehealth operations across a major academic medical network in New Jersey.

Research Interests

Dr. Brodsky's academic and scholarly focus encompasses telehealth innovation, pediatric emergency medicine education, and community health literacy. He has been instrumental in developing and scaling pediatric telemedicine consultation services across the RWJ Barnabas Health system, establishing protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, and onboarding multiple subspecialty groups onto the platform. He is a nationally recognized contributor to the field of pediatric telemedicine, serving on the American Board of Pediatrics Telemedicine Entrustable Activity Committee, which produced a consensus publication in Academic Pediatrics (2023). Dr. Brodsky is committed to health equity, having conducted community health education on an indigenous reservation in Panama, and bringing accessible pediatric health information to lay audiences through the PEPtalk podcast.
