Meet Dr. East

A 2015 graduate of SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Dr. East completed residency training in internal medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, serving as chief resident from 2018-2019. She pursued fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. Her interest in structural echocardiography and multi-modality imaging led her to pursue an Advanced Cardiac Imaging fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, which she completed in June 2023. She subsequently joined the medical school’s Division of Cardiovascular Disease and Hypertension. 
 

Dr. East is regarded by faculty, medical residents, and fellows as a passionate and intentional individual with a love for educating and received the RWJMS Excellence in Teaching Award in 2017. She has supervised and educated medical residents, fellows, and medical students through weekly echocardiography lectures and clinic rotations. Dr. East has made significant contributions to the field of cardiology through publications, abstracts, and regional presentations. Her interests have expanded to the field of artificial intelligence and its integration within cardiovascular medicine. As of 2025, she has co-authored content for several publications, educating the medical community about the profound impact of artificial intelligence on cardiac imaging.
