Bio Summary
Sharon Lohrmann, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Boggs Center, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Lohrmann obtained her doctorate in Special Education from Lehigh University in 2004 and is the recipient of the 2009 Dr. Irwin A. Hyman Service to Children Award. Dr. Lohrmann launched the New Jersey Positive Behavior Support in Schools project in 2003 and has served in the role of its director since 2004. Through the NJ PBSIS project Dr. Lohrmann coordinates and supervises the delivery of training, coaching, and technical assistance to personnel in more than 150 sites across the state annually. Dr. Lohmann serves as a member of the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions and for Research and Practice in Severe Disabilities. She has published 17 peer-reviewed articles, and several book chapters. She is a member of the Northeast PBIS Regional Network Advisory group and as an NJ DOE partner routinely participates in various NJ DOE workgroups on topics related to social, emotional, and behavioral wellness. She routinely presents to New Jersey groups and associations on the importance of tiered interventions for social, emotional, and behavioral health in school settings.

Research Interests
Dr. Lohrmann’s publications include qualitative and single case studies investigating the implementation of intervention processes in school settings to support student social, emotional, and behavioral health. Research interests center on understanding implementation science processes, design of school-level interventions, capacity building that supports educators to adopt new practices, and identifying the elements of interventions that have transformative impacts on outcome and buy-in. Dr. Lohrmann is interested in the educational outcome trends for the New Jersey educational system, with a particular interest in attendance, discipline, and Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying data.
