Bio Summary

Over the past few years, I have learned the importance of strong collaborative work as the foundation of completing any study. As the Medical Director of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at RWJBarnabas Health I devote a significant amount of time delegating resources as well as mentoring my faculty towards various collaborative projects. Our group’s intent is to initiate, support, and facilitate important pediatric critical care research. My research interest include post-acute sequelae in children and their families from their experience during the acute and post-acute phases of care. My experience as the PI of a two center study looking at 265 post ICU parents and assessing their Post Traumatic Stress response over a 2 year period will help guide the work on similar projects. My work as a primary as well as collaborating investigator will provide experience towards any clinical research program. One key area that I have experience in is enrollment and follow up. For both the above-mentioned study and the COVID-19 studies that I led as the site investigator for New Jersey required strong organizational skillsets and a team approach. For these studies we had a very successful enrollment rate and more importantly a high level of follow-up. For this research program, I will contribute my expertise and leadership in collaborative clinical and translational research. I will work to ensure that we have the support and collaboration within the academic healthcare system that our team work under. I will provide input on best practices and approaches to maximize consent for enrollment and retention of patients into subjects. I will integrate my knowledge on the development and management of multicenter clinical and translational studies. Along the way I will provide any help I can that will ensure the success of the study
