Tanaya Bhowmick, MD

BIO
Dr. Bhowmick is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed a seven-year combined BS/MD program through Villanova University and Drexel University College of Medicine. She went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she later joined the faculty.
Dr. Bhowmick is the founding Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and currently serves as the Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship. She has led institutional and system-wide stewardship initiatives and previously served as Chair of the Vizient Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. She remains active in national efforts to advance infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship through her involvement with the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).
In addition to her leadership roles, Dr. Bhowmick is involved in clinical research, including both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
