Benefits

The geriatric medicine fellowship program offers a uniform package of benefits consistent with those provided at all graduate medical educational programs operated by the Rutgers – RWJMS. Full details are continuously updated by the school's GME office and are available at: http://rwjms.rutgers.edu/education/gme/overview. The program currently has continuing funding for two fellowship positions at the PGY-4 benefit level annually. Over the past three years, the program has been able to provide funding to support fellows attending national meetings of relevance to the field of geriatrics to help present their scholarly work. Such travel requires approval from the program director and funding availability is determined on an individual basis. Beeper, white coats, and computer access are all provided. Fellowship training does require considerable travel by the fellow in and around the various clinical and didactic venues throughout central New Jersey. No routine overnight in-hospital call duties are anticipated.
