Improving the Lives and Health of Women
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School offers medical students, residents, and fellows the knowledge of providing quality health care to women and babies.
We are proud of our academic heritage and we are devoted to the pursuit of excellence and innovation in clinical care, research, scholarship, and advocacy. Our faculty are actively engaged in women’s healthcare policy development and we value our strong connection to the community.

Academic Programs
The department offers a fully accredited residency program, as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship and a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology.
The residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a four year program designed to provide residents with a well balanced exposure to the entire field of women's health care.
The department also offers a two-week rotation for medical students as part of the women and children clerkship as well as several sub-internship electives.
Our Research
Our faculty, residents and fellows are involved in a wide range of clinical, translational and basic research projects. Our department actively collaborates with investigators at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), the Child Health Institute (CHI) and Eric B. Chandler Health Center.
Clinical Services
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is a Regional Perinatal Center, the main site of clinical practice for the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and serves as a major referral center for high-risk obstetrics in central New Jersey. The department collaborates with the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health in caring for both obstetrical patients and their babies and for gynecologic patients by joint participation at each practice's clinical site.
