Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs develops innovative programs to recruit and retain faculty in their various academic roles and to promote resilience, vitality, professional accomplishment, and personal satisfaction. We are committed to serving as a valued resource to all faculty, focused on faculty in all academic tracks. Through one-on-one mentoring, participation in learning communities, and engagement in other programming, we will work together to help you achieve your professional goals.

We recognize the importance of supporting faculty members’ professional engagement in education, scholarship, patient care, and both academic and community service. Institute for Excellence in Education

The vision for the Institute for Excellence in Education is to be a nationally recognized center to prepare learners to teach and care for their students and their patients.

Faculty Mentoring

The faculty mentoring program at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School serves all instructors, assistant professors, and associate professors of all tracks with the goal of enhancing the professional accomplishments, career trajectory to promotion, faculty engagement, and satisfaction with their position at the school. The program was developed for Rutgers Health schools under the leadership of M. Maral Mouradian, MD, vice chancellor for faculty development at Rutgers Health. The program includes an Individualized Development Plan, a mentor mentee contract, and training for mentors.

Our faculty are our most valuable asset. Extensive literature has shown the value of formal mentoring programs on faculty productivity at academic medical centers, as well as improving satisfaction with positions, careers, career development and advancement, and self-efficacy.
