The Department of Pediatrics at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is dedicated to advancing the field of pediatrics through patient services, research, education, and advocacy. We are committed to providing multi-disciplinary family-centered care with respect, compassion and the highest standards of excellence.
The faculty and staff in the Department of Pediatrics conduct clinical, research, educational and outreach activities which directly and indirectly impact the lives of children and their families in central New Jersey, throughout the state and regionally.

Academic Programs
Our outstanding residency and fellowship programs produce excellent pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists, some of whom choose to stay and practice in New Jersey. They become part of a critical workforce in the provision of child health in New Jersey.
The department has the only neonatology, pediatric critical care, and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship programs in the state.
Some of our trainees go on to assume faculty positions and leadership roles in academic medicine at our own institution as well as other institutions across the country. The department participates in many community-based outreach activities, patient education programs and continuing medical education programs.
Caring for the Future
Our excellence in research has contributed to improving the lives of children locally and nationally.
The Pediatric Clinical Research Center (PCRC) provides core infrastructure and service to investigators in the department and assists with the expansion of access to innovative clinical trials and novel therapies for children.
The Child Health Institute of New Jersey (CHINJ) is a biomedical research institute focused on basic science and translational research in childhood diseases.
